After almost twenty years of living just north and a bit east of the greater Dallas area, I pulled up roots and moved north to just south of the Red River in November 2014. Now located between Bonham and Paris, Texas, off Highway 82, I truly am living and loving the rural lifestyle of an unincorporated area just north of Honey Grove, Texas. Surrounded by over 1000 acres of grazing land, Brandmar has a new home where the dogs and non-canine family members enjoy the peace and quiet of true country living.

As a breeder and exhibitor of Bearded Collies since 1989, followed later by Havanese and Tibetan Spaniels, I pride myself on only breeding the best to the best for soundness, type, health and exceptional temperaments. Each dog is a treasured member of my family and raised in a secure and loving environment within my home. Stud service is available to approved quality bitches on a contract basis. Puppies are occasionally available to approved homes on a contract basis only. Companion puppies are sold on a non-negotiable spay/neuter contract. To ensure the health and well-being of all our dogs, I CERF for eyes, OFA for hips and elbows, and thyroid test (Hemopet/Dr. Jean Dodds) each Beardie prior to being used in my breeding program. Other tests for Havanese and Tibetan Spaniels are done in accordance with their Parent Club recommendations prior to breeding.

I am a long time member of the Bearded Collie Club of America (BCCA), and the Bearded Collie Club of Canada (BCCC), and am a Past President of the BCCA. I was honored in 2003 by the BCCA as Member of the Year for my years of service and dedication for the benefit of the breed. I am an approved breed mentor as well as serving on the BCCA’s Judges Education Committee. I am a past editor of the BCCA monthly newsletter, The Bagpipes, and the past columnist for the AKC Gazette for Bearded Collies in addition to having served on numerous other committees. In 2004 and 2012, I had the distinct honor of judging Sweepstakes at our National Specialties in Fort Collins, CO, and City of Industry, CA respectfully. I also had the honor to judge Sweepstakes at the Bearded Collie Club of Canada’s National Specialty in 2011.

I am a member in good standing with the Texas Kennel Club where I am currently serving my second three year term on the Board of Directors, The Bearded Collie Club of Texas (BCCT) where I was a founding member and have served as President, the Havanese Club of America, the French Bulldog Club of America, the Canadian Kennel Club, the Stewards Club of Dallas, a lifetime member of Take The Lead, and a past member of the Lone Star Flock Tending Shepherds. I am a founding Trustee of the Bearded Collie Education and Rescue Trust (BCERT), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established for Bearded Collie rescue and educational purposes, and serve as Treasurer of this organization. I also am a member of the Arabian Horse Association and the American Donkey and Mule Society.

After almost 36 years of marriage, in 2009, I lost my biggest fan and best friend to cancer. He always loved the dogs for the companions they were, never for what they might have accomplished in the show ring as it should always be. Hope for a cure! Believing at the time that a love like that only comes around once in a lifetime, in 2013 I was proven wrong when I met a most incredible man and fell in love again. Loving the true rural landscape of his home, it was an easy decision to pull up roots and head further north in Texas to begin a new chapter for myself and Brandmar Kennels with him. Love you Mr. Morrison!
